Book Review#1: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (plus some info from January)

First! Some info about January. So I mentioned before that I have given myself a person reading goal of 100 books to read this year. I so far am at 15 books and Goodreads tells me that I am 3 books ahead of schedule. So I'm feeling good about this so far. Books that I have read but have not reviewed because I hadn't created a new blog yet are:
Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson's Greek Gods by Rick Riordan
Can You See What I See: The Night Before Christmas by Walter Wick
Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling
The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen
I Spy: A Book of Riddles by Jean Marzollo
The Steadfast Tin Soldier by Hans Christian Andersen
The Runaway King by Jennifer A. Nielsen
The Shadow Throne by Jennifer A. Nielsen
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
I Spy: Extreme Challenger by Jean Marzollo
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz

And recently... Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

Now for the review.

I was always curious about Fangirl. I had never really decided to buy it. But during a secret santa event that my good friend had going on her Goodreads group, I suddenly had a beautiful copy in my hands. I'm not a big fan of contemporary novels. And though I loved the copy I received, I was not convinced that I would like this book very much. I didn't even pick up the book until February when it became one of our books of the month. Once I started to read it. I wasn't impressed very much. I thought the book was boring and the characters were horrible. The only character I sort of liked was Cath. I thought she was someone I could relate to. Someone familiar. Someone just like me. And her character taunted me to continue reading. And so I did. And before I even realized it,  I began falling in love with the book. Obsessively in love with it. I got to know the characters and realized why they acted like they did. They became my friends. And I happily revisited them everytime I opened the book. I fell in love with the story of Simon Snow and because obsessed with them like Cath. I grew to love Levi as Cath did. It was beautiful and natural and pleasant. <3 I couldn't be more disappointed when it finally ended! I wanted more from that world! I am so impressed by this book that I have been recommending it to everyone who hasn't read it! It's worth picking up!!! <3
